I wonder if Kerber observed Djokovic's great sportsmanship yesterday against Stepanek.
With Djokovic serving in the fourth set at *5-5, his advantage, Stepanek challenged an out call on the middle of Djokovic's baseline and won the challenge. The umpire ruled replay the point ( which was just about everyone's assumption, but Djokovic gave him the point ). Looking at it again, Djokovic appears to strike his reply ( a bit cramped ) just before the out call, and it ended in the net. But even if he did, it was still great to see, and I believe Novak has done similar before. Some others have a rather different reputation.
Shame he was incapable of showing similar sportsmanship against Murray in Miami. You know, in a match where wasn't odds on to win.
Things have changed quite considerably since Mervatron's last post Coming from a break down twice, and winning 4 of the last 5 games, Hev has taken the 2nd set 2-6 7-5

Pity it sort of drifted away with too many errors again in the final set.
I thought the game at *1-3 in the final set clinched it when Heather was just threatening to get back again and was raising the crowd. 2-3* could have been interesting with the way Kerber can suddenly become so much more tentative on occasions. But she was never really pressurised in that final set.
The good from Heather in the second set was very good, great retrieving and great hitting at times. Clearly far too many errors, but I like her being much more positive.
When she puts it all together, she now seems clearly a threat to anyone outside the top 20, but still got a lot of work to do to really threaten the higher echelons.
But she doesn't seem afraid of hard work, and from where she's been, her year so far must be very satisfying.

Further confirmation that Hev is alot better now, 2 years ago an in form Kerber would have won that comfortably in 2, now though Hev pushed her, if not all the way certainly Kerber knew she was in a real tussle.
