Naomi's grown on me this Wimbledon, still find her groundstrokes painful to watch. But, she's playing like a junior out there. I understand it's all new and it's a massive opportunity, but she just has the brainless *hit and hope* mantra of a 17 year old.
Missed the last couple of games. Plenty of super shots from Naomi but still huge room for improvement. I was expecting her to get more unreturned serves and aces too. Her backhand was probably the best I've ever seen it. Forehand wasn't much help today. Weird how in each of her matches on the grass, a different aspect of her game has stood out. If she's to get close to the top 100 she'll need to put it all together far more often.
Who is the blonde woman sat with Heather's coach at Eastbourne and again yesterday?
The commentator said the woman sitting next to her coach was Heather's fitness trainer. Can't remember her name. I think Sue something.
Was it Gill Myburgh? LTA Strength and Conditioning coach

Correct the new head LTA strength and conditioning coach, who took over from Flo about 12 months ago. A very nice South African lady who doesn't say too much but always smiling and very good at her job.
Poor Tara, I was willing her on and 12 months ago would have won that match comfortably in straights, her opponent today woefully below her best. But alas not to be. Serve seems to be a big issue, at its best she can serve easily in the 100 range, but today average speed only 85mph which when you serve for the match limits her chances massively.
Hopefully Tara will get her act together, but it will take a sea change in attitude, just such a shame to see all that special talent not maximised.
Jane's a great coach so she's in great hands but ultimately its up to her. Come on Tara don't finish your tennis career with regrets.
I thought Broads did as well as she could, Woz is playing much better now following her split from Rors.
Watching Tara I got the impression she was fast around the court, hit some superb shots but rather held back by a nervous disposition. She needs someone who can convince her that she is good enough to go on court with the expectation of winning, not might win or could win but WILL win. She has the game to do it, she is fit enough to do it she just needs to believe that she WILL do it.
Jane may well be a great coach, as Phil says, and the two might be very happy together, but I don;t think it's working at the moment - Tara's results over the past 9-12 months (with no major injury problem etc.) have been pretty woeful. It's a key time of her career.
Sometimes you just need to shake things up. I;ve no idea if it needs carrot (like Peter suggests) or stick (I can think of a couple of South American coaches who might put the fear of God into her and she might thank them for it later) but I think it need change. And, yes, ultimately it has to come from her but a coach can be a significant factor in that as well.
So, yes, she has a LOT of potential but what's the good of that in isolation?
I wonder if Kerber observed Djokovic's great sportsmanship yesterday against Stepanek.
With Djokovic serving in the fourth set at *5-5, his advantage, Stepanek challenged an out call on the middle of Djokovic's baseline and won the challenge. The umpire ruled replay the point ( which was just about everyone's assumption, but Djokovic gave him the point ). Looking at it again, Djokovic appears to strike his reply ( a bit cramped ) just before the out call, and it ended in the net. But even if he did, it was still great to see, and I believe Novak has done similar before. Some others have a rather different reputation.
... and if you're still concerned, there's no need - Katie just 'favourited' my tweet that was designed to clarify what Katy meant for my less clued-up followers (who could have been forgiven for thinking she meant a singles LL, even though that would make no sense for at least two obvious reasons), so she definitely knows about it - not that there was ever any chance that she didn't!
Meanwhile, the mayhem on the M1 (or wherever they are) continues:
Jo Durie: "@katydunne be nice to your mum!!"
Katy: "@Jodurie every noise from my phone sends her into panic stations aha!!"
