Such a frustrating match to watch. Tara eventually takes the 2nd set after a tiebreak. From 5-2 up she made so many soft errors, especially whenever she got within two points of taking the set. Came up with some super shots in the tiebreak. Both players fluctuating between classy and inept tennis.

I do hope at some point Tara watches the re-play and listens to Sam Smith's (am I right this time?) commentary - which was brilliant (IMHO) and absolutely spot on re Tara's aspects that are SO SO frustrating.
But, bottom line, well done to her - not easy - go girl, all to play for tomorrow.
Tara played some great tennis at times. I've only ever seen her play this match and last years Wimbledon against Kanepi. She seems extremely under ranked, its flumoxing, I assume she must only turn up for big matches?
Saw all of the Tara match and the standard was very up and down. It reminded me of a typical 25k match, lots of errors and a few bits of brilliance.
Vera is a shadow of the player she was and needs matches, but I expect the break will suit Vera and she will go on and win this.
As for Tara, we know she has all the shots and the talent, but she has poor shot selection, her second serve is poor and she is low in confidence. IF she got it all together she could be top 100, but as Sam said, she lacks concentration in training and doesn't always commit 100% and this is currently reflected in her game.

Er, so what we seem to be saying is: if she was better, she'd be ranked higher?

I do apologise for tedious quibbling, but in countries like ours whose culture is historically based on the Protestant work ethic, "deserving" is usually associated with working hard and 100% commitment.

My predictions almost completely spot on all men out in first round and Heather and Naomi through only Jo Losing breaking the crystal ball.
I have a feeling that Naomi will beat Wozniacki. Naomi is aggressive and Caroline defensive. If Naomi plays her game she can win this. Out of all top 20 players this is one she can beat. Yes a tall order perhaps but I'm calling it now
Sam also as predicted 2 bakery products a 6-2, 6-2 would have been fairer based on play. Think Tara will still miss out didn't expect her to win a set though do well done on that.
