Youzhny playing some lovely tennis. Unless his level drops I don't see James having any realistic prospect of winning this.

I fear that Cox might well be totally out of his league here

6-2 First Set to Chardy

He is out of depth, but you can count on Dan to fight all the way regardless.

Exactly.

And the only thing you can say re Chardy is that sometimes his head goes AWOL so Dan's best attribute stands in his favour.

I don't doubt the guy's heart, to go up 300 places this season is impressive but Chardy is to Good for him

But what else do you expect? Cox is ranked 220 or so, and with a CH of the same (i.e. not an ex-top-50 guy who's gone down) and he's playing a top 50 guy who's been as high as WR25 or so.

The difference is enormous. After all, how many top 100 players has Dan Cox even ever played?

One can argue the LTA wildcard policy till the cows come home but it seems to me that Dan is playing his tennis, not choking and, if he loses, which is very likely but is never a given so let's hope, he won't have too many regrets (unlike JoKo, for instance)

Youzhny played well today and even at his best I don't think James would have been good enough but it was a pretty poor effort, losing 10 of the last 11 games.

Do these commentators do any research? They keep saying this is Dan C's first time at Wimbledon.
