L128: (WC) James Ward WR 155 v (17) Mikhail Youzhny (RUS) WR 16 (CH 8 in 2008) L128: (WC) Dan Cox WR 215 v Jérémy Chardy (FRA) WR 43 (CH 25 in 2013) L128: (WC) Kyle Edmund WR 284 v Andreas Haider-Maurer (AUT) WR 96 (CH 70 in 2011) L128: (WC) Dan Evans WR 144 v Andrey Kuznetsov (RUS) WR 114 (CH 68 in 2013) L128: (WC) Dan Smethurst WR 243 v (9) John Isner (USA) WR 11 (CH 9 in 2012)
Ward v Youzhny H2H: 0-1, 1 & 6, Dubai earlier this year.
Kyle & AHM almost met in Brasov last year but Kyle gave the Austrian a walkover.

I posted in the qualifying thread...I agree good draws for Kyle and Evo...terrible for Smethy, Cox. But I think Ward has a chance!
Smethy got Isner in the draw :( rotten luck!
Cox v Chardy (tough one)
Kyle v Haider-Maurer (good chance)
Evo v Kuznetsov (also a good draw)
Wardy v Youzhny (not impossible, Youzhny not on form but he likes the grass)
Bedene v Anderson (another really tough draw, especially on grass)
Other interesting ones:
Carreño-Busta v Ferrer (Buster hasn't had many good draws at grand slams)
Brown v Baghdatis (two crowd favourites)
Youzhny has had injury problems for much of the year so Ward might have half a chance. Can't see Smethy or Cox having a sniff. Great draw for Evo and Kyle.
As for Carreno-Busta. The guy never had a chance here and is simply turning up for his first round cheque. He is going into this without any grass court preparation at all. He could have made the main draw at Eastbourne or s-Hertogenbosch this week but instead chose to play a clay court challenger.
Kyle's opponent, AHM, went out in straight sets in the 1st round last year to Go Soeda, who Kyle beat 2&2 in Nottingham last week. Guarantees nothing sadly.
Evo and Kyle have a great shot
At making R2, as has been said little hope for the others unfortunately. But you never know, that's the beauty of sport...
Wouldn't be surprised to see none or three go through. These draws are mainly hard to predict, except in the case of Smethy and probably James. Hopefully Kyle can get a win on the board, and same with Evo, who could do with some points to offset the USO?
So with Evo, Kyle, Cox and Ward all in the top half with Andy, I imagine they'll all play on Monday. Could be a good day for a ground pass.
For the rest of us lets hope they are all on televised courts. It still recall with near disbelief that Evo's match against Mayer in 2011 was on a non-televised court.
That's wretched. The two players who have had everything handed to them on a platter get the decent draws, and those who have toiled on their own have terrible ones. I will hope for upsets galore.

I'm sorry but this is just silly. What ever you feel about the treatment of the various players neither Evo or Kyle have "had everything handed to them on a platter". In the case of Evo he was probably due a decent Wimbledon draw after getting Davydenko in 2009 and Mayer in 2011 while Kyle and got drawn against Janowicz last year.
Also with the exception of Smethy no one has a terrible draw. Youzhny's form this year is no where near as good as his ranking suggests and while Chardy is a good player there are plenty of players who would be a far worse draw..
Also, whatever folk may think of the LTA's treatment of Kyle ( very favourable if arguably counterproductive at times ), that is no reason to wish comparative ill on Kyle himself ( or Evo ).
All the best to all the Brits. Overall, over both men and women, it's a pretty decent draw.
