Wow! I don't know anything about Gaby Taylor but that is a stunning result. For a player with a career Pro record of 2 matches played, 5 games won to beat the world no. 129 is a scarcely believable result.
Well it looks like the right player won the playoffs! Tony O, Gabi trains in Marbella in Spain and was either runner up or winner of the junior orange bowl.
Jade having a good showing so far. She's just lost her break advantage (after recovering from 0-40 to deuce but losing the next two points) so it's 4-4*.
I'm not expecting her to do much from this position but it looks like she's playing better than she has been, and although her ranking would take a big hit if she does lose this, the most important thing is that she is fully fit and can try to get some momentum going again. Like Sam, she had a good summer last year before being derailed by injury and needs to find a way to do some damage limitation as big points drop off.

Lisa is competing really well considering this is her first professional event back. She's on the verge of dropping the first set to Kovinic at *4-5 but to be competing at this level so quickly is really quite something.
Em finally converts a break point to get on the board at *1-3
All things considered injury and form wise, the past couple of weeks haven't been all that bad. Hopefully signs of some of last years form starting to creep back in and she can get some wins together in a few ITFs over the summer.
Well done, Ms Taylor. Even should it emerge that Ms Arvidsson was not at full strength, it's still impressive. And courage to Ms Webley-Smith. All things are still possible!
