Sadly it's looking like Klein will be the only victor at the moment. Disappointed with Marcus and Dave Rice in the end. JWH expected and dont see Corrie being able to win enough on Groths serve. Alex will be knackered and playing a guy who is really a top 100 player so would expect straight sets loss there too.
At the end of the day hopefully the 3.3k they get will help fund more travel for challengers that's the way to look at it. There was never really much change if any of them qualifying.
Looking at TennisAbstract's Wimbledon qualifying probabilities (which often look a bit suspect in individual cases, e.g. Josh only 11% to beat Williams even though he beat him earlier this month, but are probably a reasonable guide in general), they suggested 1.56 (i.e. 1-2) Brits surviving QR1, with Brydan the most likely (35%) and with only him and Marcus above 25%, then just JWH and Ed over 20%.
Those figures also gave only about a 1 in 8 chance of any British qualifiers, with no individual Brit having a more than 1 in 25 chance and Brydan at 3.9% again topping the list. All of which corroborates what many of us thought when we saw the draw, i.e. that it was unusually tough for the Brits even by Wimbledon qualifying standards.
