That would be about right. I first saw him play here in Elche in 2010 and he was 18 at the time.

*5-2

Well, that was a lovely clean way to serve out the match. Well done, Jack !

Great win. So pleased for him. Have met him a couple of times and he is a really good guy.

Keep that hat on backwards Jack.

SF: Jack Carpenter WR 1163 beat (1) Karen Khachanov (RUS) WR 406 (18yo, CH 413 this month) by 1-6 6-4 6-2

Not a career best scalp but given that Khachanov is almost certainly under-ranked (given his age and the fact that he was still playing quite a few junior events last year), possibly the best win of his career so far It takes him into his 2nd Futures singles final (L to Neuchrist in Antalya in May last year)

Well Done Jack. Had high hopes for him a few years ago but hasn't really broken through. Good to se him getting some decent wins and results

Jack has been unfortunate with several long breaks through injury. From what I have seen he is a solid and very dogged player who gives very little away. Would love to see him have a full "injury free" 12 months so we could get a true assessment of his level.

Should certainly be a contender for top 25 for end of year if her can keep this level up. We need a few more there now that Josh and Boggo are retired and have dropped out. Bamb should be there in a few months and Neil and Milts should make it back too.

FINAL: Jack Carpenter WR 1163 v Nerman Fatic (BIH) WR 867 (CH 794 last month)

Jack will probably return to the GB top 25 if he can win the Final - and even if he doesn't, today's win should see him rise well over 200 places to just outside the top 900. It's Jack's second Futures singles final (see above) and the Bosnian teenager's first.
