No sorry I got Madison confused with Sloane Stephens, who Hev is up 2-0 against rather surprisingly. Keys can be very erratic so whoever Hev plays is an excellent opportunity to make a premier final
I think the last time Hev played Keys was first round Wimby last year - Hev obviously physically hampered and Keys a big prospect. It'll be a great match whoever she plays!
Happy for Hev, a bit gutted myself as I had arranged my day to allow myself to watch it. Still, some good points, a competitive but not unwinnable SF to come and a rise in the ranks.
Does Heather get the points for making the SFs? I thought it was like being a lucky loser, you get the prize money but not the points unless she wins (in which case she'll get finalist or winner points). Maybe I'm mistaken?
I think she gets the points for reaching the SF stage but not the bonus points she would have earned had the match gone ahead and she had beaten Kvitova. I'm sure others will correct me if I'm wrong.

It is really very different from a LL situation where someone was actually beaten in a FQR ( and then got a lifeline ) so don't get the additional qualifying points for winning the FQR, because err they lost it.
There is no rhyme or reason to deprive the "winner" of the SF points that they might have won in matchplay anyway by winning the QF on court, especially if the opponent had been nursing a slight injury. Even if underdog, they had some probability / expectation of winning the match and getting the additional points for the match. It would be absolutely unfair to give the fit player 0 points just because the other player couldn't play.
So, sorry, but of course Heather gets the SF points. Logicality does still have some place in the WTA ( and ATP ).
