Lost internet connection. When it was restored I was glad to find the match level at one set all 3 - 6, 7 - 5

and that Heather has broken to get the first game in the deciding set

Can't believe the BBC sometimes.  The report for Giorgi beating Azarenka happily notes that "Giorgi, currently ranked world number 42, will now play Australia's Johanna Kontain in the second round. " !!!

Typical Hev win, relentless, Pironkova didn't have anything left in the final set. Worryingly though Hev was icing her arm towards the end of the final set, and her level dropped a little making the end a bit tenser that it might have been. Hopefully it won't inhibit her tomorrow.
Jo was very impressive, Bencic was below par, but the end got very nervy, top 100 well done.
