A very strong qualifying draw so there are no nice draws, but these are all pretty bad - seeds 2, 3, 5, probably the best junior in the world and a former champ ...

Shame for Naomi but again showing she is competing well at this level. Not outclassed and Wimbledon can be a positive time for her.
Others are out of their depth at this level but it's more match time, and a good experience for Katie to see how much more work she needs to do to get to herself up there.
Sam getting totally outplayed 5-0 first set only won 8 points. I really fear for Tara and Sam should they draw seeded players at Wimbledon.
I think most of us rather fear for Tara and Sam , whomever they come up against at Wimbledon !
But, to be fair, that's only to be expected. All things being equal, if a WR 230-250 player takes on a WR 50-70 player, you'd expect them to lose pretty swiftly.
(Doesn't mean we can't cross our fingers for a miracle, of course . . . )

... which is sad, because Tara and Sam have looked able to compete with (if not beat) top 100 players in the past, they just seem to be having a terrible time at the moment for some reason.
Meanwhile, a WR 50-70 player is currently serving for a 1st set bagel against Tara

I suppose this was almost inevitable given the strength of the draw, but only Naomi managed to win more than 4 games

This is the second year in a row that Brits have failed to win a single sets against non-Brits in Eastbourne qualies.

Both Tara and Sam are really struggling with their serve at the moment. Very similar stats: 50% of first serves in play. Df rate of 40% of all 2nd serves
Doesn't bode well for WMD. Hopefully post Wimbledon they can find their form again and make their way towards top 200. As things stand can't see them doing much better than that.
