15k Manchester now only has two non-Brit players in their main list (and barely any in their quali list either). As paulisi says, it's points just waiting to be taken
I didn't manage to make it Sheffield but I hope to make it to Manchester. Is there anywhere with details of the tourney online, such as location or pricing or anything? Information really does seem sparse.
Edit: Never mind, a little more searching did the trick.

surely it's not good for so many Brits to be competing for same points
From an individual GB tennis player's perspective, maybe not. i.e. maybe it's good for them to play other players rather than the ones they've played a lot of times already.
But from a GB tennis fan's perspective, it's brilliant
If the seedings are respected, we get an 18 points, a 10 points, 2 x 6 points, 3 x 2 points and 7 x 1 point. That's an amazing haul. And will cause some major rises in rankings.
Even in the worst case scenario (which is pretty unlikely) i.e. that the two foreigners get the winner and runner-up places, we still get 2 x 6 points, 4 x 2 points and 8 x 1 point.
Depending on weather forecasts and ability to get time off work, i'm hoping to be there Tuesday lunchtime and wednesday.
Never seen Marcus or Lewis live(they never seem to make it up north when i'm there...) plus not had the chance to see Oli, Brydan, Richard Gabb and Jonny O'Mara play yet.
It's actually a stronger field that Ilkley the following week, where Dan S and Oli are not down to play.

Yes, I am not sure that there really is any negative points issue here. Yes, they are all losing to each other, but of course they are all winning against each other too, and should be pretty much cleaning up 15I points here.
Without really particularly analysing it or looking at the possible alternatives, I am not sure that they would collectively likely do any better, if quite a lot had gone to other venues.
You do make a possibly fair point, CD, re lack of variety of opposition. But Gary's concern here seem to be ranking points, and last year he did raise that concern even more clearly, that they were collectively taking points off each other ( I am not sure at what particular time ) and I wasn't convinced then that it was an overall negative.
If you could guarantee that they'd all win, then obviously they should all enter different tournaments. And each and every one could get 18 (or 27) points a piece.
But when we come down off cloud cuckoo land, then why shouldn't they play each other? After all, this is not 'cheap' points - they've all got the right ranking for this sort of tournament, it's all standard, they just happen to be all British.
Certain players definitely get fed up playing the same guys all the time (which isn't really the case here), or playing people they know/friends etc. (which may well be the case) and perhaps they should look elsewhere. But for the majority, it's a great chance and I don't see any problem.

Yes, 27 points for the winner. So can the Brits beat their best-ever haul from a 15K*? That was 73 points out of a possible 78 in Nottingham in week 31 last year. Manchester was a 10K last year and provided the 4th highest GB points haul from a 10K - 53 points from a possible 56.
* since the new points system started four and a half years ago, but since the points on offer before that were lower, this also means an all-time high
