The scratch pairing caused even more damage in the semi-final:

SF:  Ruben Bemelmans & Go Soeda (BEL/JPN) CR 937 (260+677) defeated (WC) Ed Corrie & Dan Smethurst CR 418 (207+211) by 7-6(3) 7-6(6) bleh

The end of Brit interest in the Nottingham Challenger.  hmm

SF: (WC) Ed Corrie & Dan Smethurst lost to Ruben Bemelmans & Go Soeda 6-7(3) 6-7(6)

The 33pts they'll both pick up as losing semi finalists will take them comfortably inside the top 400.
