RE: Week 24 - ITF ($50k) - Nottingham - Grass

Just opened the ITF live score - Freya won taking the last set 6-3!!! Good for her!

suggest scoreboard malfunction or scoreboard operator malfunction!

It looks as if most of the Q2 matches were stopped for some reason as they are now scheduled for tomorrow.

Naomi won the 1st set against Jabeur 6-3 but got bagelled in the 2nd and was 1-3 down and 30-30 when play stopped for the day. That match concludes at 11 am tomorrow and Freya's QR2 will start after a match that is 6-4 5-3 0-15 finishes on another court.

The break may be a good thing. Looks like Naomi is playing well but perhaps still lacking some match sharpness and fitness.

Good rest tonight and come out the blocks firing tomorrow

Does anyone know who the other MDWCs have gone to?

I'm wondering if Katie Swan is one of the other MDWC recipients. I'd be a bit surprised, seeing as she gave a walkover at a British Tour event last week. Maybe Lisa Whybourn?

That's a shame but not too surprising. I'm not sure this is an official comeback, it seems more of a case of her enjoying tennis again via coaching and perhaps playing some tournaments where her charges are also competing. Then again maybe Naomi has decided to give it a go again. Either way she's picked up her 1st point since November 2010 smile

Actually fancy Katy more than the other 3 with those draws.

Yeah you would assume being from Paraguay more of a clay courter and Katie loves the grass so she perhaps has the best chance. 2/4 wins would be the best we can hope for here.
