Week 24 - ATP World Tour 250 - Queen's Club, London (grass) - doubles

At least one Murray performed at Queen's today:

R2:  Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) CR 65 (32+33) defeated (1) Bob Bryan & Mike Bryan (USA/USA) WR 1 by 7-6(6) 7-6(3)   biggrin

OK, so the Bryans would have been treating the match as a useful warm-up on the green stuff, but this defeat means they've so far had precisely one match in competitive conditions...

*****

QF:  Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) CR 65 (32+33) vs Kevin Anderson & Jonathan Erlich (RSA/ISR) CR 166 (89+77)

Well that should cheer up the Murray family tonight

Not just a win, but WHO they beat. Excellent.

As if to top that (completely off topic, of course) Brazil go & concede an own goal in the opening match of the World Cup to Croatia!    disbelief

Excellent win. Not the first time they've bested the Bryans, either.

Yes, the second win makes a difference, doesn't it. Lose to someone once, and it could be a fluke. Lose to them twice (and on different surfaces) and you're bound to have a little doubt next time you see them ...

SF:  Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) CR 65 (32+33) vs (7) Julien Benneteau & Edouard Roger-Vasselin (FRA/FRA) CR 21 (12+9)

Jamie & John are the only unseeded pair in the semis! wink

QF:  (3) Daniel Nestor & Nenad Zimanjic (CAN/SRB) CR 14 (6+8) defeated (8) Colin Fleming & Marcin Matkowski (POL) CR 71 (36+35) by 4 & 4

Pity they couldn't have pressed the third seeds a little harder, though perhaps they just weren't allowed to. hmm

Nestor and Zimonjic are very tough - and looking very good this year. Benneteau and ERV are not going to be easy either!
