On the back of this, I'd be inclined to say yes for a MDWC. This result would suggest she could do well on grass. Irrespective of previous precedents, good or bad, beating someone of Babos' ranking deserves a reward.

Oh my !!!

Re my two leans above, I'm almost falling over re the first one and straightened up the second one a bit.

If Katy is offered a MD WC and wants to take it ( and such as Naomi Cavaday have said no before ) then good luck to her.

Absolutely superb. The last two weeks Katy has shown phenomenal form. Still not sure about the Wimbledon WC although she's making a very good case for one.

Fantastic

FQR: (WC) Katy Dunne WR 483 beat (q2) Tímea Babos (HUN) WR 101 (CH 59 in 2012) by 6-2 7-6(4)

So that's WR 100 beaten last week, WR 101 this - whoever is WR 102 won't want to get her at Eastbourne LOL

25 points, taking her to 103 points, currently equivalent to WR 384 - 386 !

What a brilliant set of results Katy has put in recently to say the least. Three wins against players ranked around 100 in the world shows it was not a fluke or down to her opponent playing badly (which could always be the case with one result).

I would definitely like to see her get a Wimbledon main draw wild card as a reward. Probably I tend to worry less than others about the potential downside of losing heavily in the first round and se it as more of an opportunity she could go into with nothing to lose.

Yes, Tony, I was thoroughly unconvinced ( if still seemed a very good performance on the day ) by last week's first win against a top 300 player, but now...

By the way, she has a shocking record against players between WR 200 and WR 300 :)

Brilliant, but we've been here before (remember Amanda Elliot anyone?).

This is so exciting, she's moving forwards nicely and playing so well. But this next stage of her career is so important and needs managed carefully.

I'd be inclined to give her a shot, as we don't really reward our top juniors in wildcards as other Slams do.

Davis is probably the only winnable qualifier slot, but great experience to have a crack at an established top 100 player whoever she draws

I loved the way Katy announced on twitter last week that she had a WC for Birmingham, and quickly self deprecatingly added something like before folk fell over it was a Q WC.

I don't see too many falling over if you get a Wimbledon MD WC, Katy.
