Excellent victory for Dean here. Tomova is just about to start her doubles match (final?) so may be tired tomorrow especially as her match went to 7-6 in the third this morning.
This win put her to 43 points currently good enough for about 610 in the rankings and a win tomorrow would push her up to about 560.
She is also 9th on the entry list for next week so a withdrawal should see her seeded.
The former Yugoslavia has been a happy hunting ground for Eleanor. She won the Smrikva Bowl, a leading international tournament for under 10s in Croatia (won later by Katie Swan), back in 2006. One of her under 14 titles was in Bosnia, then her first ITF under 18 title was in Montenegro, so let's hope for further Balkan success tomorrow.
Just a thought - but I'm wondering if it's just a coincidence that 2 of our brightest prospects - Eleanor and Kedders - originated from Yorkshire? Or do they have a really good junior talent-spotting and coaching programme there? Anyone got any insights?
Before them of course was Katie O'Brien who like Kedders came from Beverley.

If Eleanor can win tomorrow, it will be her third and biggest title of the year, the previous two being 10K tournaments, and like this one tournaments where she came through qualifying. I doubt that she need to bother about qualifying for 10Ks any more, indeed no doubt many would question her even competing in them much more.
Difficult not to get too excited about her prospects with already so much in so few tournaments this year.
I quite like in some ways that she is just getting on with building things away from the spotlight of the grass court season.
Agreed Indiana. It seems to be Elly is beating players ranked 300-400 quite easily so do we think she's probably playing at a 250-300 level at the moment? I know it's hard to gauge. She's going to have to start playing some 25k's to make bigger moves but she seems to be playing a great schedule so far this year. Will be interesting to see how she, Katie and Katy move up over the rest of the year. Would be great to see them all in the 300's at least before the year ends.
For some reason Eleanor was simply unable to control her own service games; at times she could barely win a point on serve. Only 1 df so that wasn't the reason.
Appeared to fight a bit harder towards the end of the match or perhaps VT got nervous.
