PaulM, Who has Tara got watching her? I mean, as a coach? or team? (tell me it's not Jeremy Bates . . .)

Two much better games from Tara. More aggressive and composed and she deservingly takes the set 64

Wouldn't Bates have been with Katie B at RG?

Ugh. A very poor game and Tara is broken 3-4*

Tara is frustrated and seems to have stopped thinking. Opened up the court and played the most ridiculous soft volley straight back to Eleni who holds to love

*3-5

Broken from 30-0 to lose 75 46 63

Disappointing. A lot of that was on her, she just played a very strange match today. Really odd performance, she was so tenative in her service games but was breaking pretty much at will.

I still think Tara has bags of potential but I wouldn't be arguing a case for special dispensation if she is just outside the top 250 off the back of that one (and her general ranking slide in the past 12 months, particularly Lisa was going up the rankings when she was overlooked at only a few spots outside)

Yep that's decided for me no Wild Card so Tara qualies WC only. No justification for wild card her current level is 300 plus.

I've said it before and I'll say it again : MD WC for Tara if she is WR 250 or above next Monday, no MD WC if not. No reason for any dispensation if she doesn't make it, but her form isn't so bad not to give it if inside.

I didn't read : "be inside the top 250 and be playing what is considered top 250 tennis at the time." And whatever, her current level, while definitely below what she and we would like, isn't so hugely away from that level.

Actually, she might just sneak in. On the running rankings she's still just inside at #247, with noone I can see who can overtake her.

Might get there by the skin of her teeth which would be nice (and in a funny way I think she's more likely to win a main draw match than one in qualies)

It's normally Jane O'Donoghue with Tara.

Don't think these have been reported yet:

R1:  (ALT) Julia Boserup & Madison Brengle (USA/USA) CR 813 (484+329) defeated (WC) Samantha Murray & Jade Windley CR 382 (205+177) by 2-6 6-1 [12-10] bleh

So close! hmm

R1:  Magda Linette & Saisai Zheng (POL/CHN) CR 191 (143+48) defeated (WC) Jo Konta & Tara Moore CR 552 (251+301) by 6-4 3-6 [10-7]

Another close one! hmm
