Nobody seems to have picked up that Naomi left leg was causing her a problem from the start of the 2nd set, just a minor thing I think, but in a game if small margins it certainally didn't help. Diyas was very tough, composed and very few errors apart a very annoying inability to get her ball toss right. Naomi played well and her best was better than Diyas, but wasn't quite consistent enough to get the win.
Remarkable comeback from Jo in the 1st set, weather was really windy at the start of the day and it was tough for her to play at her very best, very hopeful she can do something special tomorrow.
Great to see Joss and Anna break the 50 point ceiling they've had from any individual tournament. Now, a minimum of 70 points this week, thank you very much.
That will boost their rankings further, though I was already rather assuming that they would get a Wimbledon MD WC.

6-6 - not sure who had the first set point(s) then a mini-break for JoKo brings up set point for her but it is saved. Now she has another one at 8-7*on Fichman's serve, and takes it

Jo played a very nice game to break for *6-5, then a horrible game to end up in a tiebreak
*0-1
1-2*
*2-3
3-4*
*5-4
*6-4
6-5* (can't get her footing for a mid-court ball and scoops it well long)
6-6* (dreadful return off a short second serve miles long)
*7-6 (a couple of huge groundies into each corner forcing the error)
*7-7 (nice forehand down the line winner from Fichman)
8-7* (Fichman thinks Jo's second serve was long)
Jo takes the first set with a beautiful backhand return down the line which Fichman loses balance tring to get to and sails her forehand wide.
