thanks indiana... I'm a Manc living down under and was following the post. The scoreboard went nuts at a crucial point here which said that james went a break down, which I reported. Then felt like a Kn@b when 'real 'scores resumed so tried to follow it up with a bit of embarrassed northern humor. BTW Kylie beat Martina by a default, she hit the ball girl on the head via Tim Henman at wimbledon. she faces Barbara windsor in the second round (making a strong come back from injury) who will play Fatima witbread.... when was the last time we had a second round qulies in the French? anyone?
and well done James as well as Kylie... potential 3rd round (fingers crossed)

Would love to see Wardy make it into the MD, even if it is only for selfish reasons. I will be there for the 1st week and would love to be able to cheer him on.
Wardy's next victim will be either Rola (SVK) WR 99 or Cervantes (ESP) WR 516. Despite the apparent discrepancy in their rankings, they are currently 1-1 in the 3rd set.

Cervantes(-Huegun) is a former top 130 player who was out injured for 9 months from June to March and is using a protected ranking to play here. James has a 3-0 H2H against him but hasn't played Rola before. The Slovenian is now well on top in the decider having been a set down.

By the way, jiwan, although I got the train of events wrong, I was well aware ( as I trust everyone else was :) ) that you were having a bit of a running joke and I was trying to enter into the spirit of it.
I thought a Kyle vs Martina match had really popped up on the scoreboard that you were looking at, such as with some sort of hypothetical testing rather unfortunately going live, and that you'ed decided to run with it for a laugh.
This result reflects the parlous state of American tennis presently, dominated as it by hard court tennis with its basic game style dependency on a big serve, first strike forehand and nothing much else. American players look to end the point too quickly to be successful on clay.
Rola looks to be a product of U.S. college tennis so maybe that's a good sign for Ward. His recent rise up the rankings has come about with some decent results on clay though.
