Entries Week 23 - 02/06/2014

According to a tweet from Liam he's in a challenger this week.

Edit: he says it's in Germany which would indicate the 35K + H on clay in Furth, but no tournament info is available as yet. Wonder if any of the other grass court season absentees e.g. Bambo will be there?

Wild cards into Nottingham for Ward, Cox, Smethurst and Edmund. But one wild card is now free because Ward now direct entry. It might go to Baghdatis who is playing qualifying.

can't argue with those wild cards... all well deserved. What is mr Smethurst like on the grass?

I'm guessing she is just resting after her recent clay court exertions. She certainly deserves a week off.

Indeed, she's played 10 clay court matches in the last 3 weeks, many pretty big i.e. 5 matches for her Prague title then 3 French Open Q matches then 2 French Open MD matches.

She will have Birmingham, Eastbourne and Wimbledon after this week.

I would have been more surprised if she hadn't pulled out of Nottingham 1.
