4 more groundshot errors and it is 5-1.  The errors all came when Jame was attacking the ball, but this is way to many errors.  I've a nasty feeling this will be a short match

That was a pretty poor set of tennis (well, by james, that is - perfectly acceptable from Kravcic, of course . . . )

Think the picture at the change of ends says it all right now. Big improvement needed, come on Wardy!

A lot better from James.

Nice to see him at least 'doing his scales', as the French would say.

Vamos, James.

Come on James, this is a vital Davis Cup match ( err being played over the best of 3 sets ).

Shh :)

James refocuses and works his balls off to fashion the break.  Really, really gutsy play.  He cut out the errors and worked. He received a warning for smashing his racket when he lost his first BP (didn't do anything stupid).  I'm impressed!

Shame. Not really James' fault. Still playing well. You can't nail them all. Now's the time to stay strong . . .

The UEs were his undoing again.  He came quite close to smashing his racket when he missed a shot to go 15-40 down.  I can't fault his desire

Indeed, Kavcic somewhat hands the break straight back! Now serving for it.

Very good set of tennis. Well done. Don't quite agree about the UEs towards the end (although the forehand dropshot was definitely poor)

But the other faults were the right ball, the right shot, and just missed by a bit. They wouldn't even count as UEs by most coaches scoring system.

Completely different from the off-balance wild swipes at the ball in the first set.

And now . . . .

Yes they are UEs!  I'm not saying it was bad shot selection, but UEs all the same.
