QF: Heather Watson WR 122 lost to Kiki Bertens (NED) WR 151 (CH 41 in 2013) by 3 & 1
... though let's be honest, with Hev still a bit rusty (at least on serve) and Bertens seemingly not far off being back to her best, the Dutchwoman always looked like a big favourite for this match.

It was a shame that Hev got injured when she did, as she was playing so well and on the verge of getting back in the top 100. Having been out for a few weeks, it's not surprising that she hasn't instantly recaptured her best form, but she has enough time to be 100% ready for the French Open.
A very positive return to action for Hev. I think her game suits clay quite nicely as long as conditions aren't too heavy, so will interesting to see how she gets on in an even stronger ITF event next week (Jo deciding to stay in France for a $50k+H)
JoKo lost to the eventual champion here (Fichman) and rises 7 places to a new career high of 107 - breaking the 'Boggo barrier' (Alex's ATP career high is 108) - and Heather rises 10 places to 112.
