ITF launch Junior Masters in 2015

Not exactly news, having been announced 2 weeks ago, but I didn't post it then because of the welter of Easter tournaments taking place. From next year the ITF start an 8 person Masters event in China for the top juniors. It's an idea being tried increasingly at different levels, not always succeeding in attracting the top eligible players (a lot of the leading TE14s give theirs a miss for example). I wonder whether it will be of interest to Katie B if she does well enough?  Note that their will be live streaming, but using a 6,000 capacity court is risky, atmosphere wise, unless they ship in thousands of kids.

If eligible I would imagine Katie B would do this.  She is fully funded by the LTA and it would be a big news story for her to finish her junior career in such an elite field (even if the other truly elite players weren't there!)

It depends if it fits into her schedule - i assume there are no points on offer or prize money...

There is also the 2nd youth Olympics this year in August. Two players per nation based on ranking.

Katie is planning on stopping playing juniors after Wimbledon, so not sure this will be on her radar.

I would've thought the rise of Bouchard may have incentivised some to stay in juniors for as long as possible.
