One very unhappy Aussie. After amazingly not managing to break his racquet when he went *4-6 down in the TB, after losing the last point he thrashed a ball over the adjoining court onto the main road. It may be halfway back to the centre of Edinburgh by now.
Very good controlled tennis by Marcus on the last few points of the TB broke the Aussie down.
Marcus was very consistent other than backhand slice sometimes turning into a backhand push into the net.
Good for him that he got it done in two, though he looked fine at the end. And he indicated to one guy that he'd be absolutely ready to go for his SF, "no problem".
"Audience" for Marcus's match ( only remaining QF match when I arrived ) varied from about 15-20.
I'm not convinced Lewis has upset Marcus at all without hearing it from Marcus. Playing away in a higher level tournament will only help their CR anyway!
Anyway, big congrats to Marcus on his singles success this week, lets get another title!
Neil takes the 1st set 6-2 against Ash. Maybe tough for Ash to come back, given that he has already had a long 3 setter today whilst all Neil has had to do is tie his shoe laces.
Edit
And Neil has also broken in the opening game of the 2nd set. *1-0

Neil got slightly upset ( in a nice British way ) about a call on the first point of his service game and it got away from him rather. Ashley holds so now..
Neil wins and is now very close to breaking into the top 500.
I think he will be on 67pts, cut off is 68pts with nothing to come off until 10pts in June
And while you were typing that, I was looking up the same thing
However, the cut off is 71 from what I can see. Perhaps you are already taking into account other peoples points coming off etc. I am not that sophisticated. Either way, a win in the final would definitely see Neil back in the Top 500. 17 down, 3 to go, as I would say
Sadly, not sure where the other 3 would come from at the moment (apart from Luke)
