I said that Liam looked the winner if he kept his level up, which I thought fair comment. As I subsequently reported Liam didn't keep his level up. And Marcus won.

Many congrats to Marcus on doing the double for the 2nd time this year - it is his 5th Futures singles title (2nd of the year) and 25th Futures title overall (singles and doubles combined):
FINAL: (1) Marcus Willis WR 360 beat (7) Neil Pauffley WR 559 by 1 & 3
Marcus should rise to a new career high of around 325 on Monday week.

Congrats to Marcus on a comprehensive victory. If him and Lewis were to split permanently, then it would be nice to see Marcus get a partner who shares aspirations in both singles and doubles.
Interesting Wimbledon WC situation building up and it is great that there is real compeition for these.
If, as usual, there are a total of 8 GB ( MD + Q ) WCs available prior to the QWC play-offs, I'd say that 5 are already booked - namely for Evans, J Ward, Cox, Smethurst and Edmund ( all possibly MD WCs ).
That would leave 3 QWCs up for grabs ( before the play-offs ) from say Rice, Willis, Golding, A Ward, Corrie, Broady and Bambridge.
It does look as if the Q WC play-offs could be pretty competitive.
There are no words or phrase in the great English language that adequately describes how I feel at this sweet moment so I will just quote from the Greatest Englishman sir Winston churchill who 70 years ago inspired not only our nation but the whole free world
