Q/LLs now placed so I have edited in Tara's R1 opponent above. She has played Patterson once before, beating her 6-3 7-6(4) in the SFs in Chiswick in 2010 on her way to the title there.

Em and partner won the first round doubles match 6-1 6-1
Actually I think they won their doubles qualies match. The doubles draw here is tough.
You're absolutely right - my bad (as the highly frustrating phrase seems to go - what's wrong with 'my fault'? Anyone know where 'my bad' comes from - it drives me nuts).
And so they qualify - and draw Naomi and Tara ! The others (Joss/Anna and Sam/Jade) have not drawn seeds in the first round so I assume that's good.

I'll give you 3 guesses *
* you could try U, S and A

Naomi seems to have won 6-3 6-4 (11 aces 2 dfs. broken just once, otherwise dominant on her serve according to the stats) Tara lost 4-6 4-6 (broken 8 times in 10 service games. 5 dfs 0 aces, return stats look good but not sufficient)
Sam currently 2-6 (winning just 1/3 of service points in the opening set)
0-1* (Sam broken to 15 at start of 2nd set)
*1-1 (Sam breaks back on her 4th bp)
2-1* (Sam saves 2 bps before holding. Now up to 6 dfs)
*3-1 (Sam takes her 2nd bp)
Misa Eguchi through to play Naomi in the next round after a comfortable win over wildcard Miki Ukai
4-1* (A rare comfortable hold for Sam)
*5-1 (Sam breaks to 15)
5-2* (Sam starts the game with 3 dfs, saves 2 bps before being broken)
*5-3
5-4* (I was busy cleaning my teeth so no idea but Sam broken again, this time without any dfs)
*5-5 (comfortable hold for Qiang Wang)
5-6* (Sam up 40-30 fails to win another point)
6-6 (Sam takes her 2nd bp)
Tiebreak
0-1* 0-2* *1-2 *2-2 2-3* 2-4* *2-5 *3-5 3-6* 3-7

The reason I've always thought Naomi was a class apart from Tara and Sam was based around their serves and the current stats from today are a good example of this. I've always thought Naomi was easily the best player of the 3 would be good for her to prove it now.
Sam was *5-1 up in the 2nd set then lost 5 games in a row before breaking to get into the tiebreak as Wang served for the match.
Anyway, all 3 R1 matches involving Brits go against the rankings, yet very much with current form ...
L32: Samantha Murray WR 229 lost to Wang Qiang (CHN) WR 258 (CH 151 last May) by 6-2 7-6(3)
L32: Tara Moore WR 250 lost to (LL) Tammi Patterson (AUS) WR 372 (CH 289 in 2011) by 4 & 4
L32: Naomi Broady WR 218 beat (5) Eri Hozumi (JPN) WR 166 (CH 165 last month) by 3 & 4
H2H 0-1 - Eguchi beat Naomi 3 & 4 in Vigo in 2011. She also reached the Final of the 50K in Seoul last week, hence the career high, but lost 3 & 5 to Samantha at Edgbaston, her last tournament before that.
