Don't know but Steve Darcis has requested a wildcard (after his big shoulder op)
Dan and partner have won the first set against the number 2 seeds.
I do think it's a great idea to play with different players, particularly players of other nationalities (unless you're a specialised pro doubles partnership of course). It's great experience of different styles and 'makes friends', which makes the sometimes rather lonely world of pro tennis a nicer place when you're traveling.
QF: Dan Cox & Gong Maoxin (CHN) 1581 (1252+329) defeated (2) Victor Baluda & Konstantin Kravchuk (RUS/RUS) CR 226 (123+103) by 3 & 3

Another mountain for the boys to climb in the semi:
SF: (3) Dominik Meffert & Tim Pütz CR 246 (111+135) vs Dan Cox & Gong Maoxin (CHN) 1581 (1252+329)
Dan and partner won 1 & 1! And the games raced away rather than being even remotely tight. Well done all round........although on the face of it, it does seem a bit odd from the outside in. Like someone on the other team who should have withdrawn but didn't, or a team not really trying. Dan and partner won 13 of the first 14 points, for example, against an established much higher ranked team. Hhhmmm .

Brilliant !
But, yes, having seen most of the match against the second seeds yesterday, it was slightly odd then too - Dan and Gong played well and the other guys didn't exactly give it to them but you didn't get the impression the other guys cared that much, there was definitely a bit of 'going through the motions'.
Anyway 'wotever' . . . good luck to them in the final !
Oli's teamed up with his singles opponent in the doubles & it's tough draw for them:
R1: Borna Coric (CRO) & Oli Golding CR 1425 (836+589) vs Laurynas Grigelis & Nikola Mektic (LTU/CRO) CR 730 (448+282) R1: Dan Cox & Gong Maoxin (CHN) 1581 (1252+329) vs Chase Buchanan & Lukas Storck (USA/GER) CR 1396 (287+1109)
Somebody's going to have a field day with the unknown (to me) German's surname...
God ! What a balls up not going to this can't believe how high CR Are ?

I think 1 or 2 forum members may have advised the "A1 team" to go to these challenger events in Asia a few weeks ago, but playing futures is obviously more important
A bit more than 1 or 2, if I remember correctly (and most of the rest were probably thinking it) - still, treat it as a valuable lesson and all is not lost.
