RE: Week 18 - ITF ($10K) - Antalya, Turkey - Hard

Eleanor served for the second set but couldn't get the game.

Now 5-5

Loses 3-6 5-7. Shame but can't be expected to win every match.

L16: Eleanor Dean WR 922 lost to (1) Olga Doroshina (RUS) WR 395 (CH 389 earlier this month) by 3 & 5

Pity, but 6 wins in a row then losing to a top 400 player on the way up still makes this a very encouraging fortnight for the young Brit.

As steven says losing to a top 400 player on the up is no disgrace.
I suspect Doroshina will go onto win the title.

Ah, pity, but decent showing, so no worries.

I said that this matchup against the top seed would be interesting ( being deliberately non commital ) and it seems to have been. Looks to have been a good competitive encounter, and maybe an indicator ( as much as one match can add anything ) of where Eleanor is at. All things considered, a pretty good place I'd say, with in time surely much more to come.

The matches Eleanor has played so far this year suggests she is playing to a level around the 350-400 mark. Quite impressive.

Shame she lost but agree Eleanor would seem to be at the 350-400 mark ish at the moment which is great. Barring injury i would expect her to be higher than that at the end of the year
