16-year-old Mollie lost to the top seed in qualifying but makes her first ITF Pro main draw appearance (at her 7th attempt) anyway

FQR: Mollie Crouch UNR lost to (q1) Cristina Ene (ROU) WR 1194 (CH 825 in 2013) by 1 & 2

L32: Eleanor Dean WR 922 v Kimberley Zimmermann (BEL) WR 763 (CH 756 earlier this month) *
L32: (LL) Mollie Crouch UNR v Océane Dodin (FRA) WR 719 (CH 554 in Aug)

* H2H 1-0, Eleanor won 2 & 1 in juniors at Beaulieu-sur-Mer in 2012. The winner will play the top seed or Mollie's conqueror Ene in R2.

Mollie lost the first set 6-1 but it looked a little closer as it went along than the score suggests.

She's now 4*-3 up in the second. Would be nice to see a third . . .

Good effort in the 2nd set by Mollie - for the first half of the 2nd set anyway. Eleanor's R2 opponent is still being decided in the last singles match of the day to finish.

Yes, 14 BPs she had, but only managed 2. But she's still 16 so I hope she's not too disappointed.

It's the top seed for Eleanor next:

L16: Eleanor Dean WR 922 v (1) Olga Doroshina (RUS) WR 395 (CH 389 earlier this month)

The young Russian lady was in very impressive form during March winning 1 10k title and making the final of 2 others including a 6 and 6 defeat to former top player Krajicek in one of them. However April hasn't been as good with just 3 wins and 2 defeats including a retirement, so Eleanor must have a decent shot at this.

Eleanor has proved she has a decent shot against anyone at 10k level. I'd back her to win.

Eleanor had lots of BP chances (8) but didn't manage to convert any and so lost the first set 6-3
