Eleanor has now won 18 out of 20 matches this year She should be back in the top 750 on Monday week, fast closing in on her career high of 720 set in November 2011.

I'd put a bet that in 3 years time Eleanor Katy and Katie will all be ranked higher than Laura and Heather.
The latter 2 (i.e. Katy and Katie) win and lose, and over time will hopefully win more and more matches, but when Eli gets it right, she seems to be able to absolutely destroy the opposition rather than just beat them (even as a 15 year old against pro players).....for me, this is the indication that someone has significant weapons that could make them an outstanding player, rather than just a very good one. We'll see.

I can't see Katy and Katie being ranked higher than Hev and Laura unless they aren't playing any longer or have bad injuries.
I just remember at their ages Anne and Bally were ranked top 300.
Let's see how they go.
Eleanor seems to have the x factor but time will tell how all three get on. It's good that we have this crop of youngsters and a few more even younger ones coming behind them
Looks like the Kim Clijsters Facebook page has uploaded a nice picture of Eleanor after her victory, in case anybody is interested. Very well done to Eleanor, onwards and upwards.

Maybe this is a case of kicking Laura while she's down? IMO, when Laura is fully fit and at her best, she's the best youngster in the world. Now, I do think it's possible that Eleanor could be ranked higher than Laura and Heather in a few years, but not due to their rankings plummeting.
Katie and Katy, on the other hand, have not really given me any reason to think that they could or even should be ranked higher than Laura or Heather.
To be honest id be very surpriaed if Katy ever made the top 100. Katie has more of a chance but its still a big long shot. Doesn't mean they can't have decent careers though.
I think some people are underestimating just how good you need to be to get there.

But to me Katy and Katie are no Laura and Heather. I'd expect Katie B to get higher in the rankings than Katy D, but if either are ever world top 50 ranked I'll be ( very pleasantly ) surprised. PaulM may indeed be right about top 100.
Eleanor is intriguing though. Health and fitness staying good, I think we might see really good things from her. Very difficult to try and quantify at this stage.
As for Laura, I have consistently said for years that she is potentially top 10, and with her having broken into the top 30 last year I see little reason to change that. Yes, she clearly has weaknesses ( the fact that some are very improvable actually excites) and that wrist problem is a worry. But Laura Robson is a very special tennis player.
I like Heather, and she has really impressed me this year. I think that she could with a fair wind reach the top 20 in time, which is a bit above what I have previously seen as her upper limit.
I don't say that Laura will reach top 10 or Heather will reach top 20. And, again, who knows where they will be ranked in a few years. But I do say that they could.
The only other GB female tennis player ( well, aged over 15 anyway ), who "might" one day be top 20 is Eleanor Dean. Heck of a lot though in between now and any possible then.

Not the most efficient link, but I think it'll do.
