RE: Week 17 - ITF ($25K) - Namangan, Uzbekistan Hard

Indeed :)

And now has her Japan 75K to try and move to an even bigger total on Monday week ( her 16th best is now 8 points ).

And she has nothing to defend until her 40 points from Wimbledon qualifying last year.

And she has only a total of a further 30 points to defend ( from 3 counters ) before late October.

Well done, Naomi !!

Well done Naomi.

Winning finals and semis is so important under the new points system.

Hopefully she can build on this.

Fantastic to see Naomi winning the title here (and almost certainly back in the top 200 where she belongs) - it's only her 2nd 25K singles title, the other was in Puebla way back in 2009. She overcame a 0-3 H2H to do it too! Just for the record:

FINAL: (3) Naomi Broady WR 219 beat (4) Nigina Abduraimova (UZB) WR 229 (CH 205 in Nov) by 3 & 4

Wonder if brother and sister keep track of each others progress and if it gives them extra motivation.

I think this probably answers your question

Naomi: "Amazing amazing AMAZING day!! Only thing better than taking a title is when your bro takes one on the same day! @Liambroady#teambroady"

They did the double on the same day just under a year ago too (25 May 2013), but in doubles, winning titles 9000 km apart. They are a mere 5000 km apart this time!

Way to go Naomi, playing her best tennis for 2 years, with only a few points to defend the future looks very bright.

Great day for the Broadys indeed, their many metric miles apart :)
