With the exception of that one service game, where he missed an easy kill at 40-15 which seemed to affect him for a couple of points, I thought Kyle was in complete control for the whole of the set. Wins it 6-3
Kyle in his interview has a point - no coach, no Dad, he's doing great!
As expected (by Bob and me at any rate), Guez is not doing much, it's all Kyle. Guez won't go away but he's standing miles back, and distributing the ball well but not much more. It won't be a doddle to close it out for Kyle though. . .
Big hold for 4-2* there despite 7 UEs and a DF. Once again, struggling to hold serve on the game immediately after the break. But at least he hung in there.
Great stuff ! Guez looking wonderfully disgruntled and dragging his feet towards the end. Kyle's done some great stuff on the amount of work he manages to get on the ball in his forehand. Well done - and Dad and coach must be worried they're not needed :)

A first ever Challenger QF for Kyle and well deserved. Next round is going to get much tougher with Cuevas or Bolelli. Having played 5 matches in 5 days, fatigue may also become a factor.
