Harriet is ranked isn't she?

Harriet and Katie to get through.

Thanks, yes she is - I remember noticing I'd got it wrong when I did the original draw and changing it at the time but I must have forgotten to resave it! Now corrected.

Tough one next for Harriet, Laine is a former top 100 player.

Quite fancy Katie B to have a good run this week

Excellent score from Eden. She's really beginning to show some more consistent results and will be in the GB top 25 soon (and the WTA top 1000 soonish) at this rate.

Harriet will move nicely into the top 1000 too - all good stuff from the 17 year-old. :)

NB 5 out of 6 of the GB players through to the next round in the doubles smile

After a very good first round (shame for Sabrina), things still look good in Egypt:

Katie's won the first set 6-0, and Harriet is on serve but with lots of BPs in her favour

Spoke to soon - things suddenly raced away from Harriet and she lost the first set 6-3

Katie's had a ding-dong second set but now serving for the match at 5*-4

L16: Katie Boulter WR 773 def. (Q) Veronika Stotyka (UKR) UNR 6-0 6-4

Nice to see that , having done the hard part in beating the second seed, she's managed to capitalise on it so far

And Harriet 3-1 up

Laine won 6-4 in the decider.  Very close - a good effort by Harriet.

Harriet was 2-0 up in the final set as well.

Katie won as expected

Eden lost 6-3 7-5 but no shame in losing to a seed

Dasha is 3-2 up first set

Shame for Harriet but always a risk. I wonder if they have a coach out there - does anyone know? It's a real classic junior problem, playing one super match and then being 'flat' the next day and not managing to get the same game going.
