I wanted to inform my lovely supporters that I have decided to have minor wrist surgery at the Mayo clinic with one of the best wrist doctors in the world, Dr. Richard Berger. Dr. Berger is very confident that I will be able to return to the tennis court pain free before you even have time to miss me Although sadly, I will have to miss the French Open and Wimbledon.
Shame, she'll get a PR when she comes back though won't she? :(
thats the same guy what just done JMDPs wrist and did his other one back when that was crock
he scores below the US national averidge on every patient satisfaction measure tho!!!
maybe back in time for USO and a lead up event but hard to say
think she might in fact end up and miss the whole year
best for the op!!!
see weather her or her good mate jamie hampton get get back playing first!
Frustrating that what started out as a 'minor' injury 4 months ago has refused to go away and now with surgery means most of the 2014 season will be over before Laura can return to competitive tennis.
It does seem to be the best option though. The injection option seemed like another stop gap and Laura wisely decided that getting the wrist back to being pain free is more important than getting back on court ASAP.
I've been thinking for a while that surgery was probably the sensible option. I didn't like the idea of having an injection so as to be able to play Wimbledon given what happened in Aus. Not bothered if she ends up missing the whole year.
All the very best to Laura - I really hope that the op will bring a long-term resolution to the problem and she can come back to full fitness and carry on with her tennis again.
