When I met Jonny in Portugal this year, the idea that his accent was American never crossed my mind. Having said that, I am pretty rubbish at identifying accents anyway. People often tell me I have a hint of an Australian accent even though I have never been there and I hate (and hence never watch) "Neighbours".
Weren't you doing his and Billy's washing, I seem to recall?! ;)
No. That was just Billy a couple of weeks earlier, when he was in my neck of the woods at the Murcia & Cartagena tournaments. It was Jonny who was showing off his culinary skills by cooking up some macaroni for me.

Thanks for all the info guys! I enjoyed reading that (accents and languages being one of my favourite things to discuss other than tennis :) and thanks for the heads up about the weather next week- sadly that may be the final nail in the coffin for my hopes of going to watch a challenger this year :(

Oh please, I may be biased, and don't really include myself, but I think the big majority of Scots have a rather more uplifting accent than the Andy "definitive". Love you, Andy Though yes clearly real element there.
I think though that I agree with RJA that it's probably more Glasgow / west side that other folk think of as Scottish.

Always sounded Scottish to me, but it's been a couple of years, disappointing to hear he's not entered for Ilkley, but having looked at the weather forecast, that may be a shrewd choice.
There was no point in him entering Ilkely as he wouldn't have made the main draw. If he wants to play there he will simply sign in for qualifying as he did in Surbiton. There are no advanced entry lists for challenger qualifying.
