That was a closer set than most bagels - Dasha even had 3 break points and won 38% of the points, whereas players who are bagelled don't usually win more than about 1/3rd of the points.

0-6 *0-5 down. Dasha holds serve to prevent the double bagel then breaks! Could she ... ? (I think we know the answer to that one but it's nice to see her still fighting when all seemed lost nonetheless)

yes danielle had chances 1/7 to 6/10 in BP
several GB girls seem to be well in matches on return against higher ranked players but have real trouble on there own serve - to the point of aalmost never holding
thats true in the womens game in general of course but we seem to have an acute case
Sabrina and partner, having dispatched the fourth seeds in R1 from a set down, found a Czech alliance too strong in their second match, and went down: 2-6 4-6
Katy though, who is top seed this week with Anna Morgina, moved comfortably into the doubles SF with a victory 6-3 6-0
In the SF they play the pair that bested Sabrina, Pradova/Vrbenska (CZE/CZE).
Another excellent win for Katy, and even with the goalposts continuing to move each week, that will surely be enough to get her into the top 500 on Monday week even if she hasn't made it already by then
