I know this is on hard court, but from what I saw of Alex last year on clay he is a very solid player indeed, with not a small amount of grit and fighting spirit - I see him as a top 250 player at the very least in the future, and could push towards 150 if all goes well longer term. Very much a Challenger Tour journeyman, rather than a Futures tour journeyman, which is intended as a compliment. He doesn't have a mega weapon, such as the Smethurst forehand, nor does he have a particular weakness (the Smethurst double handed backhand, the James Ward forehand, the Milton serve) but he looked fit, strong and solid last year...........
Great to see Alex come back from a big injury and start to get back to decent form relatively quickly. Hope he wins the tournament from here
Very good to see from Alex. Yes, at his best he should certainly be up there with some of the current pretty clear ( on points ) GB top 10.
For the moment though he actually probably needs to win his SF to get back into the top 400, as he has 4 points due to come off on Monday week. His 6 points so far will take him to 99 points and Ashley is currenrly WR 407 on 99 points.
