RE: Week 15 - ITF ($10K) - Gloucester, UK - Hard

Nicola served for it at *5-3 and won four points in a row from 0-40* at 5-6*, but couldn't take the break point.

Nicola had the stuffing out of her a little bit I guess by that first set, and loses: 5-7 2-6
certainly something to build on from the first set and the missed chance there.

Harriet is up on Georgina: 6-4 *5-2

Lucy up on Fran: 6-3 *4-4

Jasmine just got her first game, a break, needs to hold serve some though!: 0-6 *1-3

Lauren could be headed towards a CH scalp.
Sadly the victim would be Katy Dunne, for whom the sudden drop in form seems to be continuing.
Lauren takes the first set: 6-2

Fran showing remarkable stamina in her second match back, she is now up on Lucy in set 3: 3-6 7-5 3-1*

Manisha level with Schuurs: *2-2

Jade well up on Farah: *4-1

Harriet plays Pirazhenka, whom she upset in the Azores last month, in R2

Lucy wins a very close match with Fran 6-3 5-7 6-4

Katy's 1st set loss to Lauren was a bit of a shock but she now seems to have woken up and is 5-0* up in the 2nd!

Jade took the 1st set against Farah 6-1 but is a break down in the 2nd

Decent first steps back for Fran, and good to have her back.

Katy secured the second set to level the match: 2-6 6-0

Katy duly completes the merciless comeback 2-6 6-0 6-0!

Jade wins 1 & 4 - she lost half of her own service games (4/8) but won 8 out of 9 return games.

Difficult to judge Fran's comeback, given that's Lucy's first point of the year. But does look pretty encouraging and one would imagine that she'll gradually step it up.

I forgot that Lucy hadn't picked up any points this year before today until I added her win to the T25 table. I still think it must be an encouraging week for Fran after having been out for more than 6 months though.

Manisha has lost 3 & 1 to slightly lower-ranked Schuurs - however, the Dutch girl did beat Emily in the final to win a Sharm el Sheikh 10K last month.

No 'real' surprises yet. But Katie B and Freya were always the two outsiders with the best chance of landing some big win so here's hoping . . .

I'm not sure Katie B was an underdog. I expected her to win that match and she is a set and a break up. I think she will be top 500quickly when she goes full time on the senior tour.

Freya could be a difficult match to call if on top form.

So just Harriet, Katy, Lucy and Jade have won so far with Katie and Freya to finish and start respectively. I had six to go through, but that may be slightly optomistic.
