Kyle got broken to love in his opening service game but has since found his rhythm and broken back and just gone up a break now *4-2

Stream at Bet365. Hitting big and clean so far.

As in the first set Berrer breaks to love in Kyle's opening service game. He has raised his level this time though. Kyle down 1-3*

On serve 2-1* in the decider. Kyle seems to have a francophone supporter in the crowd :)

"Allez Kyle!" "Yes Kyle" "So close" in a French accent.

Tragic bungled smash from Kyle may have cost him the match

L32: (Alt) Kyle Edmund WR 297 lost to (6) Michael Berrer (GER) WR 120 (CH 42 in 2010) by 3-6 6-3 6-4

Pity, but good that he managed to take a set off such a good player.

He still has another 3 weeks after this to make the qualifying cut for the French Open.

It's been a bit of a "messy" few months for Kyle ( eg. with Davis Cup backups and ATP WCs ), but he still comes out and really impresses at times.

Yes he does, and his performance yesterday was all the better in view of the extremely questionable decision for him still be to be in Naples the day before the match.

I think by now regular viewers will be aware that I do not approve of how "messy" his start to the season has been.

Kyle left Naples on Thursday morning to head to Turkey.
