RE: Week 14 - ITF ($25K) - Edgbaston, UK - Hard

Maybe Sam has finally found the "reset" button this year. If so, might now be heading for rather better times again.

Sam is a set and a break up. Sounds like she has just started to find her old form again.

When she's in this type of form she can beat anyone at this sort of level.

Sam looked so good today. Although to be fair Naomi played some very nice points throughout the match.

Good win that - Sam should start to jump up the rankings now.

Sam has now virtually guaranteed that she will be top 250 when the Wimbledon WCs are considered.

She now moves to 269 points, with a guaranteed minimum of 220 points as at 09/06/14. WR 250 is currently on 213 points ( and that points target has been falling as expected ).

I'll do a fuller update on the women in the top 250 thread once Sam is out / wins the tournament !

Much as it's a pity that Naomi had to go out, it's great to see Samantha apparently back to her old self again

Putting the points on the best 16 list, I've just realised that, as things stand re. the rankings on Monday week, this win takes her to just 1 point behind Naomi in the race for GB no. 4! (270-269)

Another jump in rankings for Anna and Joss?

I assume Joss will break well into the top 200

Women's rankings and doubles ranking are quite hard to follow via the WTA site
