He's a coach at Drake University in Des Moines, taking some time out.

I suspect he'll be back to the day job soon, which is probably the best option - if only because I suspect that there are few precedents for someone winning their first ranking point at 23 then going on to make a living from pro tennis.

Interesting. Quite a few though who've scored a few points along the way but only got going seriously after graduating.

Also, as a CV thing, if he wants to be a coach long-term, the higher ranking he can get, often the higher premium you can charge as a coach. More status.

...and when is the date for the French Open qualifying list ?

I believe the main draw entry list is 6 weeks before, i.e. 14th April. But I'm pretty sure that it's later for the qualifying list.

Yes - according to the forecast, it was raining lightly earlier and thunderstorms are due later. It's supposed to be just 'overcast' at the moment though.

The RG qualifying list is based on rankings 4 weeks before the first Monday of the main draw, i.e. 3 weeks before the start of qualifying week.

I was watching the golf from Houston and it had been raining all day. Not sure how far Harlingen is from Houston though.

I've been told the last 2 years french open qualy cut off was 243. So Evo, Wardy, Cox & Smethurst could all be there!
