He's a coach at Drake University in Des Moines, taking some time out.
I suspect he'll be back to the day job soon, which is probably the best option - if only because I suspect that there are few precedents for someone winning their first ranking point at 23 then going on to make a living from pro tennis.

Interesting. Quite a few though who've scored a few points along the way but only got going seriously after graduating.
Also, as a CV thing, if he wants to be a coach long-term, the higher ranking he can get, often the higher premium you can charge as a coach. More status.

I was watching the golf from Houston and it had been raining all day. Not sure how far Harlingen is from Houston though.
