Just when we thought there were going to be no Brits in the women's event next week, Amanda pops up in qualifying as a late entrant, coming back after hip surgery a bit earlier than expected

Excellent news. Just in time, appropriately enough, for clay season!
I've missed her; she generally enters different events to any other Brits, and so gives us a view on happenings in the tennis world we'd often turn a somewhat blind eye to.

She saved SPs along the way (well, at least one) but wins a second tie-break 7-4 !

2 TB sets enough fo mandy to get a point in her first event back 7-6(5) 7-6(4)
mandy was 6/6 on BP, the greek girl 6/18!

The game at *5-6 in the second had 11 deuces. Incredible effort for the first week back, that's a really strong, brave win.
