QF: (1) Ken Skupski & Neal Skupski CR 134 (65+69) defeated Toni Androic & Miloslav Mecir (CRO/SVK) UNR (because the latter is currently unranked in doubles) by 3 & 2

****

SF:  (4) Dominik Meffert & Tim Pütz (GER/GER) CR 291 (113+178) vs (4) Dominik Meffert & Tim Pütz (GER/GER) CR 291 (113+178)

I think I will put some money on Meffert and Putz winning that one  (forgive the lack of umlaut on Putz, it's too much hassle to look up on Character Map and I don't use it often enough to know the code!)

This time I messed up my copying & pasting!

The code for ü is simple:   ALT+129. wink

Interesting SF draws here, actually. Will be interesting to see how they play out. Really pulling for the Skupski brothers though!

Yes, all the best to them, though one more mention of that win ratio without more context...

Save it for those who you wish to impress, but are maybe not members of a dedicated tennis forum.

Could win Wimbledon and would not impress some people on this forum

Gary, you really need to stop reading just what you choose to read ( this is a little like when you came in ).

I and others have constantly congratulated and praised Marcus and Lewis. It's just we comment, as like on others, not in a totally one-eyed way and try to be fair. I'm sorry, if and when I am underwhelmed or think there should be more context, I often say so.

Now, go back and read my praiseworthy comments re their matches this week. In the context of these matches it has been impressive and it would be great if there was even more to come.

Gary, read the other posts ! And indeed, Indy's too.

Everyone's really pleased and happy for the guys. But you can't expect the world to change over one tournament. We've all seen players have a good one and then all go south. No one's saying that we expect this to happen. Or want this to happen. But, simply, tennis has ups and downs. We love the ups and commiserate in the downs. But we don't assume that one 'up' is a sea-change and the world will be different tomorrow.

edit: hadn't seen Indiana's post. But agree.

It's a tough ask, but that was exactly what I thought when I saw the SF draws. Not sure if it'll happen, but it would be great.

Predicted that Marcus/Lewis would upset no2 seeds

I think we will do it again in SF why ?

1) Our current ranking is not a true reflection of their current form

2) Marx & maluda although ranked much higher are again a scratch pair

3) their win ratios are not great this year

Baluda 60% & Marx 50%

4) my pair are a great team that have a strong bond and will fight harder for each other

5) my pair they won't want to come back on sat and play an Aegon team match

6) apparently there is a decent crowd and we love to entertain an audience

I think we will have an all GB final with my lads edging v skupski bros in a great final

The Germans win their 4th game in a row (both breaks on deciding deuce points) to take the 2nd set 7-5

I don't know exactly what happened but I saw the end on the stream and it was pretty gruesome They hardly won a point on serve in the MTB
