Never seen Darren play. Is he the shorter one?

Emphatic. And the way that Mr Rice was playing yesterday, not a surprise.

Good work for the GB pairings all around.

Marcus & Lewis defeated the all Dutch favourites in Doubles R16 but defeating no2 seeds to reach SF is going to be a tougher  proposition I think that although Lower ranked their superior experience as a regular pair could get them through their toughest test as a pair to date !

I think there are  several positives can take into the Doubles QF :

1) although 2nd seed opponents  are both top 100 doubles  players they are a scratch pair where as Marcus & Lewis Have developed into a Team .

2) Marcus/Lewis 2014 record is now P 27 won 24  L 3  89% win ratio & 3 doubles titles

3) it might mean more to the GB youngsters who i hope will seize the moment and rise to the occasion

Fair points Gary.

All the best to them (and the other Brit pairings). And whatever happens, it is experience that will only make them into better players.

A tough quarter-final for Dave & Sean, too:

R1:  (4) Dominik Meffert & Tim Pütz (GER/GER) CR 291 (113+178) vs David Rice & Sean Thornley CR 449 (225+224)

I think the British pairing will be alright as long as it Putz in some Meffert.

Marcus and Lewis take the 1st set 6-3

Edit: put the right score down...
