Good stuff !

Gary did point out why it was maybe a better draw than seemed at first sight, but that's still a good decisive looking win.

Hopefully they can progress further.

Berrer is 3-0* up against Dave in the 1st set - live streaming on bet365 (+ various other dodgy streams that my anti-virus software isn't too keen on ...)

Thanks, that's much better - even if the score isn't (and, as with most streams, I haven't actually got time to watch it for long LOL) *1-4

Despite the rankings disparity, I don't think that's a particularly easy first round draw for Ken & Neal, either, so I hope they don't go & fall flat on their respective posteriors!

Olivetti & Teixeira have withdrawn for "personal" reasons, so their place has been taken by alternates.  Sadly, they happen to be Darren & Adham. cry

Can't see the boys making it through to the semis:

QF: Lewis Burton & Marcus Willis CR 538 (275+263) vs (2) Rameez Junaid & Mateusz Kowalczyk (AUS./POL) CR 155 (76+79) bleh

Bit random, actually. Happened to be reading the Challenger summary on the ATP site and when I got to the bottom, the match was on. Watched a few games early on where it looked somewhat one-sided, but returning (as with you, time is at a premium)  it's much better news. After the 3-6 first set, it's now 4-3, with Berrer about to serve.

Yes, Dave seems to be holding his own well - the single break in game 2 of the 1st set is all there is between them so far - 3-6 5-4*

Now 5-4, with Mr Rice having won the last game to love. That last game was pretty impressive all around: nice serving, nice shot selection, nice execution. Alas, it's back to other things. (Just to clarify: I had to get back to other things ... not that the tennis was doing so)

L32: (Q) Dave Rice WR 286 lost to (3) Michael Berrer (GER) WR 124 (CH 42 in 2010) by 6-3 7-6(4)

A fine effort though - only broken once in the match against a very good player.

Shame Dave didn't manage a set at least there, it was very close!

Absolutely. Well done both. And a reasonable sortie in the singles too. Nice to see them giving the challies a go.

The Skupski bros are on court and can be seen on various streams.

Currently 5-4 with Walsh and El-Effendi about to serve. Mr Skupski senior's serve has been the all-GB pairing's primary friend.

And then a well-played return point from the younger Mr Skupski at deuce on 5-4 gives them the set, 6-4.
