The answer to Gary's question, but it's by no means an easy draw for Lewis & Marcus.
R1: (1 ) Ken Skupski & Neal Skupski CR 134 (65+69) vs Albano Olivetti & Maxime Teixera (FRA/FRA) CR 541 (204+337) R1: David Rice & Sean Thornley CR 449 (225+224) vs (WC) Grégoire Jacq & Gleb Sakharov (FRA/FRA) CR 1549 (928+621) R1: Lewis Burton & Marcus Willis CR 538 (275+263) vs Stephan Fransen & Wesley Koolhof (NED/NED) CR 329 (166+163)
Despite the rankings disparity, I don't think that's a particularly easy first round draw for Ken & Neal, either, so I hope they don't go & fall flat on their respective posteriors!
Pity for Marcus, but still good to see him and Lewis here.
Quite a tough looking doubles R1match for them, but simply things generally don't come easy in Challengers and it will be an interesting test for them.
Does seem things can be a bit easier at St Brieuc if you draw a local qwc. I read what CD says about this and remain a bit unsure as to whether I like it or not.
FQR: (q2) Dave Rice WR 287 beat (q5) Marcus Willis WR 385 by 4 & 4
Quite close - just 3 break points in the match, Dave took both of his and saved 1. Dave has now won 10 sets in a row in ATP-ranked events against Marcus, who last beat him in 2008.

Not unhappy with the Doubs draw where we have the superior recent form on paper the all GB better form in futures this year
The all Dutch Duo 2014 futures :
P15 won 11 lost 4
1 doubles title
The all GB duo 2014 futures
P26 won 23 lost 3
3 doubles title
The men in Orange have the superior doubles ranking as result of a relatively week draw at a challenger in Ecuador Where the final would not have been out of place at a futures 10k event
Yes but we are getting closer what was the score in their previous fixture ?
In their matches since the start of 2010, Marcus has won 10, 7, 7, 6 and then today 8 games - it looks like most of those 10 sets were decided by a single break.

It's not too disappointing result against the GB no6 with a 33% improvement in games won compared August 2013 we a due a win against young mr rice lets hope it's v Gosling at the Aegon national tier that's coming soon !

I know what you mean indiana. It seems to me a nice thing for the local lads, and obviosuly I assume the British (and other) professional guys weren't complaining.
However, I imagine that the LTA would be the one with the most beef i.e. they've got to shell out a FQR Challenger bonus top-up cheque to Marcus simply for beating a British Tour (as best) sort of player. Makes me smile, actually . . .
Glad to see it was a tight match though, and that Lewis was SO close to a great scalp - hopefully it's encouraging for Challengers going forward. And good luck in the dubs too of course.
Nobody can say that Gary is not a "half full" guy :)
...and it probably serves him well in many situations. I guess often in business it's say about convincing another party that it's half-full when it's really 2/3 empty ( just miss out the unhelpful data ). Maybe doesn't always translate ideally to a tennis discussion forum.
"Generally getting clloser" - "33% improvement in games won compared to August 2013". Love it !
