Entries Week 16 - 14/04/2014

Evo now just 2 out so if he makes the trip he will probably get in.

EDIT: 1 out and Julien Hoferlin's tweets seem to indicate that he is in Monte Carlo.

Look Mr Smethurst, I pointed out in some detail on the 15K thread the possibilities for you getting to top 100 in the ATP race on Monday week, but even if you win the 15K it probably needed some Sarasota Challenger points.

So less of this sensible longer term thinking, and get satisfying us stattos. Gee ! :)

Evo just missed out on Monte Carlo qualifying Michael Berrer was the last to get in

If our old friend Busta had won his QF in Casablanca earlier today Evo would have made it in furious

I suppose if he is in Monte Carlo and staying over night he can sign in as an alternate and could yet sneak in if there is a late withdrawal.

I blame Llodra. He said pretty recently that he was giving up singles. And yet, there he is, in qualies, with a wildcard, taking up Dan's place . . . .  cry    (yes, I know they'd have given it to someone else. But all the same . . . . )

Thank you very much to Richard Gasquet for waiting until this morning to pull out of the tournament rather than doing so yesterday afternoon.

So what is the upshot for Evo ?  Does this mean that the Q1 seed, Istomin, moves up to the main draw and Evo slots in where he would have been ?  If so, he will play David Goffin which won't be easy. But it is certainly better than not playing at all.

My comment was sarcastic. Gasquet pulled out after qualifying had started so there is a LL spot in the main draw. Istomin has already played and lost.

Botherations - or something much stronger if you please.

Thanks for the explanation RJA.

Dave has kicked off in Saratosa - can't see a thread unless I've missed it (and Challengers defeat me when it comes to starting threads)

Dave 2-1*up against Perez USA (WC)  - add: Dave wins first set 6-2 (which will probably mean he'll go to sleep now . .. )

edit: star Stircrazy has just put up a dedicated thread - with tons of proper details that I'd have missed/got all wrong/hence don't touch challengers . . . :)

Only 6 women signed up for singles tournaments this week.

But great to see that, as of Thursday, the maximum number of 5 (given two played each other) are still in action and (from memory) haven't even dropped a set so far :::)))
