RE: Week 11 - Great Britain F8 ($10,000) - Tipton (Hard)

yeah, that's a tempting 18 points beckoning.

Tempting for Sam, too , of course, who's already had a good tournament because, not only has he won some matches, but the waitress winked at him !! . . . . so says his tweet :)

Marcus Willis ‏@Willbomb90 10m

Delighted with that win! Hung in there and believed, wasn't looking too good at one stage. Final tomorrow! #hustle #jimmyfloydhusselbaink

Always honest and refreshing :)

Yes, nice tweet from Marcus

Meanwhile, Tennis Ireland made me laugh despite the result:

"What a win for @sam_barry1992 beating no 1 seed David Price (GB) @ITFprocircuit in todays semi final. Go Sam!!!"

A clear case of the Price is not Right ... no

The only thing David Rice and David Price have in common in they are both very tall.... One's a half decent tennis player, the other an over hyped boxer.

The doubles is underway and the top GB futures pair have taken the first set against the second best futures pair 6-3.

PS. That Rice and Thornley winning.....

Marcus and Lewis win the MTB 10-6

Well done - time to have a go at challengers.

Awaiting Gary Lewis to come on gloating.

Not even any consolation for Dave in the doubles final.  Nip & tuck, but Lewis & Marcus run out the s in the battle of the Brits:

Final:  (2) Lewis Burton & Marcus Willis CR 544 (271+273) vs (1) Dave Rice & Sean Thornley CR 415 (208+207) by 3-6 7-6(5) [10-6]

I feel A1 post coming . . . . but, seriously, well done to all.

Sean can have a go at Dave : 'if you hadn't spent so long on the blasted first set with Barry . . ', Dave can put his feet up and have a 'no-tennis-don't-even-want-to-think-about-it' Saturday, Marcus had better get back to the showers/physio and get in shape for tomorrow. And Lewis is the one who can go and truly celebrate !

But are the Tipton massages as good as the Thai ones ?

Well done the winners, hard luck the losers. Looks like it has been a good test for both pairs.

Apparently the Tipton masseurs are very good looking but more expensive than Thailand .

A very proud manager and sponsor tonight .

You could perhaps forgive Dave for being a bit tired at the end (though we don't know that he was obviously) but Lewis and Marcus now have a pretty stunning record this year - W 23 L 3 (88.5%), reaching the final at all 7 tournaments they have played and winning 4 of them!

If ever evidence was needed that a move up to test themselves at Challenger level may be overdue ... wink

Many congrats to Bomb and Burts for their win today.

And let's hope that their manager has even more reason to be proud this time tomorrow. Good luck to Marcus.

Sean Thornley & David Rice are one of GB's best doubles pairs so to get the title today was always going to be hard ,

Total respect to Sean & Dave they never make it easy and we were fortunate to edge it today .
