Schoorel beat Rob 3&4. All of Schoorel's wins this week have been fairly close, but nonetheless he hasn't dropped a set (I don't think).

No, he hasn't:  he's won by 3 & 5, 4 & 4 & 4 & 3. hmm

Off topic, good to see Dave Rice be the one to stop Freddie in his tracks! wink

Hear, hear.

Both the Brits will be knocking on the CH doors with the 6 points for the semi (Tom probably just making it, Dave jsut outside, by my reckoning). Points for a final and winner would make it clear cut !

Thanks for the reports, paulisi (we got to find out who you are on Twitter too! )

You mentioned Bloomers as one of the coaches. While it doesn't surprise me that he is mixing coaching and playing these days, I've obviously missed this one - which player is he coaching?

He was stood with Hilts watching George v JWH and making notes, so i guess it was JWH, but he didn't hang around for the doubles.

It's good to know from the players that support in general is appreciated, obviously with Toby and Jathan and the Team Bath head coach telling me in person and the feedback from the board.

With some GB interest at the weekend likely i plan to get down Saturday and possibly Sunday.

The Dutch boys were on the brink of claiming the main Brit-bashing title in Preston this week, but Luke & Liam managed to turn it round:

SF: (3) Luke Bambridge & Liam Broady CR 913 (478+435) defeated Sander Arends & Antal van der Duim (NED/NED) CR 1539 (1338+201) by 2-6 6-2 [10-4] smile

And they duly oblige:

SF:  (1) Freddie Nielsen (DEN) & Josh Ward-Hibbert CR 377 (48+329) defeated (4) Kevin Griekspoor & Scott Griekspoor (NED/NED) CR 1262 (638+624) by 6-4 7-6(5) smile

ergo

Final:  (1) Freddie Nielsen (DEN) & Josh Ward-Hibbert CR 377 (48+329) vs (3) Luke Bambridge & Liam Broady CR 913 (478+435)

Quietly but steadily there are some solid advances up the rankings going on. By my (very sketchy and not taking other players into account) calculations, a win for Mr W-H would bring him up to the 3-teens; a win for Mr Bambridge would move him to the cusp of entering the 300s; a win for Mr Broady would move him into the low 390s. The IW draw (and others) will affect this, as people like Wawrinka are likely to move out of the 400s. But even so.

And if the two younger players in particular continue to win, their rankings will continue to rise in the near future: Mr W-H has two wins and a semi to defend before May, but Mr Broady has one final and Mr Bambridge has nothing whatsoever.

The other women's singles game has just finished, so Dave should start in next 10-15 mins.
